“SA Steelworks”, a division of SA Metal Group, manufactures steel billets, reinforcing bar, round and square bar and other custom-produced steel bars. All products are manufactured from 100% recycled scrap steel, thus contributing to preserving the environment.

Steel scrap is melted using energy-saving and low-emission electric induction furnaces and is then refined, alloyed and stirred in an arc ladle furnace before being continuously cast into billets. Billets are then rolled into final products, all manufactured in accordance with international and South African National Standard (SANS) specifications.

Surplus billet capacity is available for custom billet orders for export.
